After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email from Dr. Brown’s Company. Within 24 hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM Central) you will receive an email from Dr. Brown’s Medical with instructions for accessing the online program. - License Period – 45 days
Upon receiving the email from Dr. Brown’s Medical the online course can be accessed immediately via Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox with a 45-day license period. Your license and ability to access the online course will expire thereafter. - Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing before the end of the license period and are granted at the discretion of Dr. Brown’s Medical. Refunds will not be granted for failure to access the online course within the License Period. To request a refund, send an email to idfinfo@drbrownsmedical.com.
If Dr. Brown’s Medical is unable to provide course access in the above timeframe, the registered learner will be notified via email. - Continuing Education Credits

The Infant Driven Feeding® (IDF) Program provides a solution to advance neonatal oral feeding practice. Those educated will be prepared to provide neurodevelopmental, family-centered care with an increased understanding of foundational knowledge of neonatal feeding skills.
The IDF™ Program provides training modules to guide participants in neonatal oral feeding practices. This training program focus includes recognition of feeding readiness, including signs of stress that may terminate a feeding session with objective scoring measures to enhance consistency in care during each feeding. Focus also includes a multidisciplinary approach, including the family. Target audience includes MD, OT, SLP, PT, RN, LC, and other neonatal professionals involved with feeding practices.
Course Objectives:
- Describe how to create at least 2 nurturing feeding experiences for infants and parents.
- Identify the 7 key components of the IDF™ Program using the success framework.
- List at least 3 appropriate caregiver support strategies during oral feeding and indications for use with the neonatal population.
- Name 3 benefits of implementing the IDF™ Program in the neonatal population.

- Chapter 6: Strategizing Interventions (30 minutes)
- Chapter 7: Sustaining Progress (20 minutes)
Instructional Method: On-demand online learning includes lectures, PowerPoint slides, handouts, learning assessments, and a course evaluation. Video included in some chapters. An audio connection will be necessary.
Course Completion Requirements: The learner must view the entire course, complete the course evaluation, and complete the post-course learning assessment to receive education credit.

The Infant-Driven Feeding™ Scales were originally published in 2007 and the online Program was created in 2014. Dr. Brown’s Company acquired the Infant-Driven Feeding Program in 2018. While maintaining the intent of the original authors, the Program and Scales will be periodically updated to reflect current best practices, updated literature, and technological advancements to the platform.
The Infant-Driven Feeding® (IDF™) Program and the Infant-Driven Feeding™ (IDF™) Scales are proprietary, copyrighted works owned by Dr. Brown’s Company. Contents are for single-user access and no other purposes.
